Early Years Foundation Stage

Our Early Years Philosophy

We believe that when a child’s interests are heard, their potential is limitless. Our early years educators use deep insights into each child’s development to plan an inspiring and ambitious curriculum that meets them exactly where they are.

From the very first day, we prioritise communication and language, giving children the tools to express themselves and explore the world. Our curriculum doesn't just stop at the end of the year; it is purposefully aligned with Key Stage 1, ensuring every child feels confident and prepared as they move up through the school.

Our practice is shaped by the four overarching themes of the EYFS Statutory Framework, ensuring every child receives the highest standard of care and education:

  1. A Unique Child
We celebrate that every child is different. We recognise that all children are resilient, capable, and confident learners who develop at their own pace.
  2. Positive Relationships
Children learn to be strong and independent through secure, warm, and loving relationships. We prioritise a strong partnership with parents and carers to support each child’s wellbeing.
  3. Enabling Environments
We provide a stimulating space—both indoors and outdoors—that responds to children's individual interests. Our enabling environment allows children to explore, take risks, and build their learning over time.
  4. Learning and Development
We understand that children develop and learn in different ways and at different rates. Our curriculum covers all seven areas of learning, ensuring no child is left behind, including those with

The EYFS is the statutory framework that all Ofsted-registered nurseries, childminders, and school reception classes must follow. It is designed to ensure your child’s experience is happy, active, fun, and safe while supporting their unique needs and interests.  Follow these links for more information.
