Curriculum Information 2021-2022

Summer Term

We have been so proud of the way the children have returned to school during the latter end of the Spring Term. It has been great to see the children laughing and playing on the playground, as well as throwing themselves into their learning.

This term we will be continuing to focus on our Covid Recovery Curriculum, working hard to fill the academic and social gaps that may have appeared over the last 15 months. We're looking forward to getting outside as much as possible and we're hoping that we can start to get back to some degree of normality with our usual summer activities.

During Spring 2, we took part in the St Oswald's Dance Festival! Click here to see the performances from all of the classes.

General Reminders:

It is important for your child's development to read at least 3 times a week. Reading helps children to develop a wider bank of vocabulary which they use in their writing. They are expected to read their school book 3 times before they change it so that they have understood what they have read. We would encourage children to read other books as well if they would prefer.

To help children to understand what they have read, it is good to ask them questions, talk about the characters and think about what might happen next.

If you would like support to know what kind of questions to ask your child when they are reading, please click the link below for ideas.

PE will be on a Monday. Children are expected to have their PE in school. If your child has earring they need to be taken out the morning before school or tape needs to be provided to cover them in the lesson.

PE kit should consist of:

  • White t-shirt or polo shirt
  • Black or navy blue shorts or leggings
  • Pumps or trainers
  • Tape for earrings if they cannot removed.

Any child with earrings that cannot be removed will not be taking part in PE.
